Role
Full concept build — direction, design system, motion, forms.

Complete build, unreleased — developed for a venture, currently private with placeholder imagery.

Recreated interfaceIllustrative composition with representative demo data — not a customer screenshot.

The problem

A retreat-and-community venture needed a presence that sells a feeling — slow, warm, trustworthy — without sacrificing performance, crawlability or form security to get there.

Constraints

  • Feeling-first art direction with hard floors on performance and accessibility
  • Enquiry forms are the only conversion path — they got payment-grade hardening

The approach

Static-first rendering with restrained motion layered on top; typography-led art direction; and enquiry forms treated as production software — validated on both sides, bot-protected, rate-limited — because a beautiful site with a leaky form isn't premium.

What was built

  • Immersive landing experience with editorial type and restrained motion
  • Retreat and event discovery sections built for conversion, not decoration
  • Enquiry forms with schema validation on client and server, bot protection and abuse limits
  • Static rendering, image optimisation and SEO groundwork throughout

Contribution

  • Art Direction
  • UX Design
  • Frontend Development
  • SEO

Technical decisions

Forms are production software

The enquiry path got the same security treatment as a payments flow — double validation, bot friction, rate limits — before the site was allowed to feel finished.

Outcome

  • A complete, locally verified build — sixteen sections of production-quality frontend
  • Unreleased: awaiting the venture's real photography and go decision

Current status

ConceptConcept — complete and locally verified; unreleased pending the venture's photography and go decision.

Lessons

Premium is mostly restraint: type, space and pace did more for the feeling than any effect.

Next stage

Swap placeholder imagery for brand photography and deploy behind the venture's domain when it greenlights.
